PERSONAL
Combining my technical knowledge, design experience, and practical training to
create high quality pottery and sculpture to show in galleries and shops

EDUCATION
- Diploma from Georgian Collage of Applied Arts and Technology majoring in
Material Arts - Ceramics and Glass.
- Diploma from H.B. Beal S.S., Bealart Program
- Sir Frederick Banting S.S. - Honors Graduation Diploma

PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYMENT - 1987-2002
- Currently producing high quality handmade pottery for the high end ceramics
market.
- Designed, made moulds/block and case, produced, and finished many lines of
slipcast stoneware for Hutton House - The London Association for Disabled Adults,
which was distributed nationwide, for 8 years. Maintained equiptment including
pottery wheels and computer controlled kilns.
- Taught beginners, intermediate, and advanced pottery techniques and functional
design, including glaze technology, mouldmaking, and Raku at Hutton House for
Fanshaw Continuing Education, the London Potters Guild, and U.W.O.’s Artifex
Studio.
- Produced slipcast ware for John Bergen Studios for 5 years.
- Manufactured and repaired electric kilns for Stratford Clay Supply for 5 years,
including the PV kiln and the Stratford kiln.

ENTREPRENEURIAL
- Currently owner and operator of my own studio, continuing an ongoing history of
producing original functional and decorative pottery and sculpture. Sold either as
retail, wholesale, consignment, or commission through gift shops, galleries,
exhibitions or sales all over Ontario.
- Conducting workshops in Raku, Throwing, Mouldmaking, Production and
Industrial Techniques, Decorative Techniques, Functional Design, and Display and
Sales.
- Previously a 10 year partner at Pear Tree Pottery studio and retail outlet.
- Professional Magician, giving performances for all ages at private parties and
gatherings.
- 1980-1984 Summer employment as project coordinator in various Canada
Student Employment Projects including; “Storybook Minstrels”, “Children’s
Museum Troubadours”, “Storybook Players”, “Sounds of Summer” and
“Experience 80”.

VOLUNTEER MEMBERSHIPS AND AFFILIATIONS
London Potters Guild: currently Past President, 2 terms as President, Workshop
Committee Chair, Artisans London representative for LPG, Co-Chair of 1997
Fusion Conference Committee, guild in house consultant in all matters regarding
clay and equipment.
