Sarah Cowling
Sarah Cowling has been painting for about ten years. Sarah’s education consists of a BA. In History, a B. of Ed., a varied number of art classes through UWO, and Fanshawe College and assorted private art workshops. She likes to use acrylics, often adding images and words from magazines as well as found materials to make a collage.

Recently Sarah’s work has been taking a new direction. There is more abstraction and a further development of collage techniques. Materials can be papers stained and painted by the artist, or found materials like buttons, string and recycled bits and pieces. The size of her work ranges from 3x5 inches to 40x60 inches. Subject matter can be purely abstract, inspired perhaps by a colour or shape, or it can be more representational. Themes of family, travel, history and the quirks of human nature are evident in her pieces.

Sarah is a member of the Brush and Palette Club, the Gallery Painting Group, Gallery 96, Stratford and a founding member of XM .Ca ( a mixed media group) and Splat and Chat ( an acrylic artists group). She volunteers for the McIntosh Gallery and Museum London (tour guide).

Her work can be seen at Art Rental, Museum London, at Art Works, Etc. on Richmond Street, London, and at Woodstock Art Gallery Art Rental, Woodstock. She has been selected as a participant in Art Focus at St. Paul’s Cathedral, London in May 2008.
