
Cam Fisher received his
BFA from the Alberta College of Art and Design. Upon graduation, he was nominated
for the Board of Governor’s Award of Excellence. He then worked as Co-production
Assistant at the Banff New Media Institute while conducting a yearlong self-directed
residency at the Banff Centre, with focus on functional pottery and atmospheric
firing in wood and salt kilns. Cam has taught and lectured at many art centers,
including the Banff Centre, North Mount Pleasant Art Centre, Brantford Potter’s
Guild, New Dundee Pottery studio, Ingersoll Creative Arts Centre, and Tillsonburg
Station Arts Centre. Since returning to Ontario, Cam has worked as Shane Norrie’s
studio assistant in Ingersoll. He collaborated on the design and construction
of a wood-fired kiln in Ingersoll, and has just completed plans for an anagama
style kiln to be constructed in 2008. Cam works as a studio potter in Woodstock,
Ontario.
